From Reconstruction to Resilience: “KAKUICHI UKRAINE Inauguration Ceremony” in Kyiv Opens a New Era of Japan–Ukraine Agricultural Innovation

On December 16, 2025, in Kyiv, an international conference was held in conjunction with the opening of KAKUICHI UKRAINE. The conference aimed to strengthen Japan–Ukraine cooperation in Ukraine’s reconstruction and to promote innovative agriculture.

The conference was co-hosted by the Japanese company KAKUICHI and JICA, and was implemented with the support of LLC “MASTER 7” as well as Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture. Key stakeholders from the agricultural sector and business community, government agencies, the diplomatic corps, the media, and a delegation from Japan gathered together in one place.

Our company’s representative, Riyu Tanaka, took the stage and delivered a presentation on KAKUICHI’s vision and the future direction of cooperation.
The program included reports by the management teams of KAKUICHI UKRAINE and KAKUICHI JAPAN, as well as lectures by government officials on agricultural innovation. Presentations were also given by partners including the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, the JICA Ukraine Office, and the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP), demonstrating a strong commitment to cooperation that is both practical and future-oriented.

In addition, as a symbolic initiative, “Craft for Peace” invited participants to collaboratively fold paper cranes while sharing senbazuru (a thousand paper cranes) and a video message created by volunteer members of the Kakuichi Group as a sign of solidarity, peace, and partnership. Comments such as “I was deeply moved” and “I couldn’t hold back my tears” were shared by participants.
The conference concluded with an open discussion, a commemorative photo session, and business networking in a friendly atmosphere. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all partners and guests for their participation and cooperation. KAKUICHI UKRAINE is not merely the launch of a new base in Ukraine; it marks the beginning of “systematic collaboration” designed to lead to sustainable outcomes.
