【Gunma】I reached the painful spot using Nano Bubbles!

Fujioka City, Gunma Prefecture
URABE FARM AND Mr. Yuki Urabe

I was previously involved in the management of a public hospital. Despite repeated opposition from my parents who advised, “Farming is not profitable, so don’t pursue it!” I chose to leverage the knowledge and experience gained from my previous job to realize “profitable and stable agriculture.” Taking over my family’s business, I am currently cultivating green onions.
Before the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, approximately 90% of the yield was supplied to one the large Japanese Restaurant Group.
Presently, I have expanded our business to include an online apparel shop.
I have been cultivating for 2 years, following in the footsteps of the previous generation with 41 years of cultivation experience.

Why did you introduce Nano Bubbles?

Around 2017, a sales person from Kakuichi jumped in and said, “I’ll show you all the data we have so far, would you like to study Nano Bubbles with us?” Then I was introduced to the company.
We introduced Nano Bubbles to one of the agricultural greenhouses that had been the worst performing, and the results were the best, so we introduced the latest equipment to two other agricultural greenhouses.

How were the effects of Nano Bubbles?

Before the introduction of Nano Bubbles, we used to inject air into the hydroponic beds from both ends. However, due to the length of the beds, the air did not reach the central part, resulting in significant growth differences between the edges and the center of the bed.
Since the implementation of Nano Bubbles, oxygen now circulates evenly throughout the entire bed, leading to more uniform and consistent plant growth.
Furthermore, the occurrence of leaf tip withering has been reduced since the introduction of Nano Bubbles.

Additionally, root development has significantly improved, with the root mass nearly doubling. Not only that, while conventional cultivation typically requires nutrient solution with an EC (electrical conductivity) of 2.5 to 3.0, we can now manage with an EC as low as 1.5, thanks to the effects of Nano Bubbles on promoting nutrient absorption.

As a result, we have been able to reduce fertilizer costs.

What do you think of Nano Bubble technology?

I was having trouble with the growth differential problem between the edge and center of the hydroponic beds, but thanks to Nano Bubbles, I have a solution.
As the saying goes, the solution to a sore spot has been reached.

It is my personal opinion that the effect of Nano Bubbles is easier to see in DFT (flooded hydroponics) than in NFT (thin-film hydroponics).

In NFT, the roots are already exposed to oxygen, so the growth potential of the Nano Bubbles effect is small.

On the other hand, in DFT, the roots are not exposed to oxygen, so the growth potential of the Nano Bubbles effect is large.

This technology is especially recommended for DFT farmers.

About the future

There is still demand for small green onions, so we would like to expand the scale of our business.
In addition, we would like to promote cooperation between agriculture and welfare, such as employment of the handicapped.

The landscape of Japanese agriculture is notably challenging, and to ensure a stable income, embracing new challenges is essential. Fear of change and an unwillingness to accept new ideas may lead to decline. Therefore, we are dedicated to actively incorporating new products and technologies in the future.

Requests to Kakuichi

No requests.
Kakuichi-san is very good at providing follow-up services even after purchase.
Thanks to Kakuichi’s Nano Bubbles, we are now able to produce outstandingly good small green onions.
We would like to return the favor.
We would like to continue to cooperate with them in any way we can!!
